PUBLISHING FOR POETS: An Insider’s View of the Canadian Publishing Process

A Seminar sponsored by the Hamilton Poetry Centre presented by Sophie Blom  (Managing Editor at The New Quarterly: Canadian Writers on Writing)

This seminar will highlight various forms of publishing that are available to poets, and

include tips on how to get your work noticed.

You may want to bring your own lunch (there is a kitchen on site) or plan to eat out at one of the several restaurants in close proximity to the church. Coffee and tea will be available.

There is parking behind the church. The parlour is on the main floor of the church and accessible by the front door.

Bio for Sophie Blom

Sophie Blom currently works as Managing Editor at The New Quarterly: Canadian Writers on Writing, and recently completed her Master of Publishing degree from Simon Fraser University. Formerly a creative writing student focussing on poetry, she let her passion for workshops lead her to a position on the editorial board of Fathom, Dalhousie University’s undergraduate creative writing journal, writing poetry reviews for the League of Canadian Poets, and to marketing positions at HarperCollins Canada and Wolsak and Wynn Publishers in Hamilton.
